Kyle attended Oklahoma State University where he played for the OSU Cowboys. Most of his time was spent on the practice field—Hedge field—preparing for fall Saturdays. Although Saturday was the only thing that most people saw, it was on Hedge field that he learned the importance of setting and achieving personal goals, working through adversity, and being part of something bigger than himself. Learning these disciplines were equally as important as his degree.
While at Oklahoma State, he earned his Masters in Family Financial Planning. You might wonder, “How this is different from a run of the mill financial advisor or planner?” The program that Kyle completed was in the college that studied the science of the human environment, not the business college. The program included the study of family systems and counseling, both elements that taught the ability to look beyond the portfolio to the person.
Kyle lives in Denton with his wife Rachel and their four children—Kyrie, Adelynn, Elias and Titus. Kyle is of the belief that all skills and talents that he has are God given and are to be used for His glory. And he strives for his work to reflect that belief. He also believes that all people are created in the image of God. Therefore, everyone has value and worth no matter their lot in life. They deserve to be treated that way.
Finally, he believes that of who much is given, much is expected. This is his personal why. Why he gets out of bed each morning. It is for these reasons that he founded Hedgefield. Why he wants Hedgefield to be an agent of change in the lives of women and the community as a whole. One of his deepest desires is to encourage others to figure out their own why. And not only discover their why but also to use their resources to wholeheartedly pursue it.
